COACH CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
Our
coaches empower the WORLD Swim philosophy through the two career pathways offered as a
coach; Life Skills Pathway or Sporting Pathway.
Both identified
distinctly, yet each play an important development pathway for each other.
Coaching certification programs are organized through the regional academies or appointed centers that require candidate coaches to complete both online and in-person hours courses. Coaches will be required to complete all competency-based assessments to become a certified WORLD Swim Coach in either pathway programs.
LIFE SKILLS PATHWAY
The Life Skills Pathway focuses on becoming competent with working with young and adult learners to teach and develop them to be skilled, confident and capable in water through swimming and possessing the required aquatic survival skills.
Coaches through this pathway are the also cornerstone of building foundations skills and impacting children's holistic development through learning to swim.
At higher certification levels, coaches can choose to specialize in working with the various groups including infants, disability and special populations.
SPORTS PATHWAY
The Sports Pathway provides candidate coaches with the opportunity to work with development swimmers who have graduated from the Skills Awards Program and are looking at pursuing their interest and or improving their fitness.
Coaches through this pathway will be equipped with coaching pedagogy, technical coaching skills and sports science knowledge through the progressive certification levels.
At the higher levels of certification, coaches will have the necessary skills to prepare and lead competitive teams into competitions and championships.
